Masterclasses

In 4 x 45 minutes, we focus on your problems and topics. Here you work 1:1 with the teacher of your choice. You can use the lessons to develop new approaches to solving your problems and/or to work on your piece for the Young Talents Concert. The classes of the 4 instructors take place in parallel from morning to evening. All classes are open. You can simply attend the ones that interest you the most. This gives you the greatest possible input for many hours a day.

Field of Vision

US percussion legend Michael Gordon has given us permission to perform his open air piece for 36 percussionists "Field of Vision", which premiered in Caramoor's Sunken Gardens in 2022, as part of the festival.

As a camp participant, you will have the unique opportunity to play in the European premiere! As an active participant, you will be guaranteed a place in the ensemble. Passive participants with a listener ticket will be contacted by us. If you are selected, we will send you your part in the run-up to the camp.

Camp Concert

In addition to the blockbuster concerts of the festival program, you will get your own stage in the main festival program if you actively participate!

In the application process, suggest a solo piece that you would like to perform in the camp concert. With a bit of luck, you will be selected by our artistic management team.

Mock Audition

As an active camp participant, you will have the opportunity to take part in a large audition training session in front of the other participants and the instructors, work on your stage presence and overcome your stage fright!

Prices

The Active Participation costs 499 EUR (incl. festival pass)

The Listener-Ticket costs 299 EUR (incl. Festival Pass)

Accommodation

Of course you can arrange your own accommodation.

But we have organised a super special offer in a good hotel near the festival center for all active camp participants during the camp and the festival! (B&B Hotel Hannover-City)

Double room: 42,5 EUR p.p/night incl. city tax

Single room: 71 EUR p.p/night incl. city tax

Breakfast bookable for 10,50 per person.

The Kulturzentrum Pavillon is the main location for the Überschlag Camp. Among other things, the "Mock Audition" will take place in the festival center. We also rehearse the festival's grand finale open air there: Michael Gordon's "Field of Vision" for 36 percussionists.

How to get there:
The Pavillon cultural center is located in the immediate vicinity of Hanover Central Station. The Pavillon can be reached in many ways. We recommend arriving by public transportation or bicycle.

Instruments

We have fantastic instruments for you from our sponsors on site!

If possible, please bring your own snare stand and practice pad. If you want to work on the tambourine, better bring your own.

The classes will be held in English.
