Artist Talks – The stories behind the music in three conversations.

At überschlag, we want to experience music beyond the stage. In our Artist Talks, festival dramaturg Martin Mutschler invites selected artists for a personal conversation about their work, their ideas, their journeys, and what interests them about percussion today.

The series starts on Thursday with a special meeting of generations: Limpe Fuchs and Sara Chakarova, the festival’s oldest and youngest soloists, come together for “Two Generations. One Instrument.”

On Friday, Grammy-nominated composer and percussionist Andy Akiho discusses composition, performance, and his unique sonic world in “Inventing Rhythm.”

On Saturday, Simone Rubino explores the development of an individual artistic voice in “Finding a Voice.”

The Artist Talks take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 5:15 p.m. in the festival center at the Ballhof Foyer.
