The classicist opera house on Opernplatz, with its columned façade, anchors the heart of the city. Behind it opens the Großes Haus – a grand auditorium of exceptional acoustics and dignified atmosphere. For the Überschlag Festival, its stage becomes the setting for the Percussion Playground, bringing the world of percussion to an unexpected place – crowned by two concerts on the grand opera stage.

The Großes Haus of the Staatsoper Hannover is located on Opernplatz, in the city centre. The opera house can be reached by many routes. We recommend travelling by public transport or by bicycle.

Accessibility
A signposted lift on the right-hand exterior wall of the portal gives wheelchair users barrier-free access to the opera house, leading to the barrier-free box in the stalls (Parkett) and an accessible toilet. For reasons of heritage protection, the tiers (Ränge) can only be reached via stairs.
