Hear & be heard better
Rhythmonie as a musical synthesis of rhythm & harmony

Rhythm and harmony are the fundamental elements of music alongside melodic composition. However, the areas of tonal and rhythmic composition are often clearly separated from each other and divided into different training areas. This results in a rhythmic training deficit in the relationship between the areas. This course combines rhythmic and tonal training in Rhythmonie and opens up access to the rhythmic bag of tricks of binary and ternary music through clapping and the supportive singing of light and individual tonal progressions.

Hilko Schomerus, who lives in Hanover, is a percussionist, drummer, author, lecturer and autodidact.

He has worked in various fields with Randy Crawford, DJ Bobo, Fury in the Slaughterhouse, Heinz Rudolf Kunze, Klaus Lage, Roger Cicero and Johannes Örding, to name but a few.

As a long-standing lecturer at the Hanover University of Music and the Cologne University of Music, he also devotes himself intensively to teaching. Among other things, he is the author of the highly acclaimed textbooks Modern Percussion, Percussion for Beginners and Rhythmic Training, Better Hearing and Being Heard in Rhythmonie.
