A rediscovery.
And perhaps the beginning of a new collaboration.
Harald Weiss is one of the most unusual figures to emerge from the German music scene. Born in the Hanover region, active in the city before settling in Mallorca decades ago, he developed a highly individual artistic language as a composer, percussionist, filmmaker and boundary-crosser between disciplines.
With this retrospective, Überschlag dedicates a special morning to one of the great outsiders of German music history. The programme features excerpts from films by and about Harald Weiss, selections from his musical works, and an in-depth conversation about his life, artistic vision and creative practice.
Moving between contemporary music, performance, film and radical individualism, the evening paints a portrait of an artist who spent a lifetime resisting categorisation.
